Bio

Stuart Wicke seeks to find meaning in simple things. His songs have been described as “intimate and cozy, yet simultaneously broad and expansive”. Striving to articulate everyday triumphs and conflicts, he takes cues from Americana wordsmiths like Paul Simon, Taylor Goldsmith (of Dawes), and Patty Griffin; as well as concept-focused bands like Pink Floyd and Pedro the Lion. His lyrics are paired with a unique sound which combines power pop, progressive rock, and emo.

Wicke began writing songs at 12 years old, recording them with the freeware program Audacity in the middle of the night when no one else was awake. Since then, he has developed a skill for “catchy songs paired with emotional narrative lyrics,” and “a knack for the recording process.” (Quotes from Jeff Polk, LEO Weekly)

Currently Wicke is promoting a single series called BROADSIDES. All releases can be found here.

Stuart Wicke performs primarily with drummer Scott Boice as a powerful and eclectic two-piece band. He is also available for solo events playing either acoustic or electric guitar.

Wicke’s latest full-length record finds him at his proggiest, adapting three literary works into two rock suites.

“[A]n ambitious project, and […] a resounding success. The two epics weave beautiful lyricism with dynamic and exciting instrumentals. There is a clear thematic throughline on each song, with peaks and troughs of drama and emotion.”
